Madonna is one cool chick. Past 40, she’s still as feisty and gorgeous as ever – it might be the thick layers of make up, but she shows the world that a woman can stay strong and beautiful at that age.
Her performance during the Half Time show was riveting and I certainly applaud her stamina – being able to last through all those songs couldn’t have been easy. I did feel however, that the transition between songs was much better in the first half than in the second half. LMFAO’s performance was more.. muted than I expected, Nicki Minaj couldn’t keep her hand off her groin area when the camera zoomed in on her (seriously girl, put your hand somewhere else!) and the much talked about middle finger wasn’t all that obvious. Or maybe I’m just part of the cynical, jaded crowd who’s deadened by the influx of vulgar images in the mass media, *sigh*
What I really loved though, was Madonna’s outfit.

The detail of her headpiece and skirt was simply gorgeous. She looked like a powerful warrior princess – though I think that some of the parts must’ve been rather heavy to dance in, which explains why the huge helmet there disappeared rather quickly.

Designer B. Akerlund came up with the concept for the constume, paired with knee-high boots from Miu Miu and jewellery from Bulgari. With all that bling and detail on her clothings, I’m betting that it took an insane number of manhours to complete (which also makes for an insane price tag).
